Often it is easy to forget New York’s connection to the water. The Edge of New York reminds of the connection and brings forward striking images of the industrial past of the river bank. Images like Len Jenshel’s “Pepsi Cola Sign, Queens West Development, Long Island City, Queens” (2005) seen above, and Diane Cook’s “Little Red Lighthouse, Fort Washington Park, Manhattan” of 2005 complement more historic images of the working water front.

The exhibition is open until November 5, 2009 at the Museum of the City of New York.

Check Cook’s photograph after the jump.
