Photographing Fashion is the result of opening one of Britain’s largest photographic archives. For many years, fashion editor Ernestine Carter commissioned photographs for use in The Sunday Times. At the hands of author Richard Lester, the archives become the launching pad for a full study of fashion and style in the 1960s. Lester chooses images ranging from the ball room to the beach, with an emphasis on portraiture. All of the photographs appearing in this volume have not seen public eye since their original newsprint run. (via Retro to Go).
