Abosultely adore the title for the exhibition of work by Wegee at London’s Michael Hoppen Gallery opening this Wednesday. Photographs like the above Out of the River, February 24, 1942, and 24 others will be on view which speak to the man’s stunning ability to construct a scene and a story. Noted for his exceptional eye, Wegee is also remembered for his penchant for adding a little to his “documentary” snaps. Lucy Davis tells the story well in today’s Telegraph.

Michael Hoppen Gallery, 3 Jubilee Place, London, SW1. Wegee runs from November 25, 2009, to January 9, 2010.
