Coming in May from University of North Carolina Press, Makers: A History of American Studio Craft brings the first comprehensive study of the movement in the United States. Tackling a variety of mediums – ceramics, glass, fiber arts, wood, and metal – the story begins in the nineteenth-century (with the reform movement) and extends through to the trends of the late twentieth-century.

The book is authored by Janet Koplos, editor of Art in America, and Bruce Metcalf, a studio jeweler located in Philadelphia.
