Pioneering anime artist Yoshitaka Amano opens a show of fourteen new works at LeBasse Projects this Friday, February 20, 2010. Best known for his work in video games (for example, Final Fantasy), Amano draws heavy inspiration from the American comic books and popular culture. Despite the artistic connection, Amano has not shown in Los Angeles in over a decade.

The new works are presented under the title Deva Loka Los Angeles. In the exhibition, Amano is able to pull all his American concepts and influences together in a cohesive show that essentially acts as his ode to the Nation.

On view through March, 13, 2010. LeBasse Projects 6023 Washington BLVD, Culver City, CA.

Some examples of Amano’s work after the jump.
