White Columns, New York, is host to a rare exhibition of recent painting by Billy Childish. The exhibition opened last weekend and runs through April 24, 2010.

Artist, musician, and writer Childish is also current subject of a 30 year retrospective at the Institute of Contemporary Art, London. The institution is the first public museum to focus attention on Childish, whose range of activities is often understood as a total work of art. The exhibition does, however, split the art and music – with new paintings occupying the lower gallery and music and writing discussed in the upper galleries. Billy Childish: Unknowable but Certain runs to May 2, 2010.

White Columns, New York, is located at 320 W. 13th Street.
