Photographer Luke Smalley has dedicated a good portion of his time to unveiling the truth of small town youth. His new book, Sunday Drive, continues this quest and captures the moments when innocence takes a wrong turn. The portraits are strong, wide eyed youth caught in nervous moments before visiting hours. Girls pictured nervous about what to wear to visiting hours.

The portraits, despite the gravity of the scenarios, display a subtle humor. The underlying concerns of youth evident shine through, the plight of their subjects only a small portion of the pictorial novella.
