Born in Bulgaria, Iva Vacheva moved from Sophia to Berlin in 2004. There she finished her artistic training at the Universität der Künste. Her newest works draw from notions of separation – particularly in their connection to the urban landscape. Emphasis is placed on the symbolism of detachment, coming either through segmented space or detachment of body parts. The new work will be shown at Janine Bean Gallery in a show entitled “Sectio” from April 24, 2010.
