New work from Julie Heffernan makes up the sixth solo showing from the painter in an exhibition entitled “Boy, Oh Boy.” Heffernan explores the idea of human progress in the series, for the first time experimenting with the male form. The boys are adventurous. They manage, or tackle, different landscapes, balancing notions of potential and fragility.

Herffernan was born in 1956 and received her MFA from Yale University. “Boy, Oh Boy,” runs at New York’s P.P.O.W. from April 29 to June 5, 2010.

P.P.O.W. 511 W. 25th Street, room 301, New York, New York.

A preview of “Boy, Oh Boy” follows.
