Where form meets function

Last week I visited Gilbert Boro at his Studio 80 + Sculpture Garden in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Born in New York, Boro began his artistic life as an architect. Transitioning to sculpture, Boro concerns himself with concepts of space, place, and scale. The works in his sculpture gallery are large scale and inspired by nature. The abstract pieces join Old Lyme’s historic link with American Impressionism, providing a center for sculpture that lives happily alongside other artist ventures in the famed art’s colony.

Many more images of Boro’s Studio 80 + Sculpture Garden after the jump.
