Originally from England, painter Tobias Keene now resides in Los Angeles. His figurative work ranges from direct portraiture to canvases that explore innocence through richly textured spaces. The Queen With Umbrella (2009), seen above, is indicative of Keene’s interplay between figure and environment, the narratives of his paintings often presenting moments of isolation.

The painter has gained favor with several esteemed private collectors (including Wallis Annenberg) and support in Hollywood (the likes of Robert Downey Jr.). Keene is represented by Carmichael Gallery of Contemporary Art.
