Two Chicago based artists get some shine at Known Gallery beginning on May 22, 2010.

KC Oritiz and Pose work in different mediums, photography and graffiti respectively. A photojournalist by training, Ortiz traveled to the mountains of Laos to capture subjects for Forced Rebellion. The images document the struggle of the remaining Hmong population against a backdrop of rebels, communists, and CIA. The material took a year to assemble, in part due to the secretive nature of many of the subjects.

Pose, a member of The Seventh Letter, investigates traditional comic book illustration with a personal twist in Rumble!! The mixed elements (his detail rich graffiti and the illustrations that inspire the pieces) translate to both large and small scale canvases.

Both exhibitions will be on view through June 12, 2010.

Known Gallery, 441 N. Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles, CA.
