Pentagram has completed a new website for the Cleveland Museum of Art.

The best aspect of the redesign is focus on access to the collections. Many museums offer collections databases, and most times these become a frightening and poorly devised jumble, working to frustrate rather than enthrall. Making the new site primarily about collections highlights the museum’s function – primarily to act as cultural preservationist.
