Los Angeles local Joe Ledbetter unveils new work in “Magnus Maximus” at Corey Helford Gallery on June 4, 2010. The exhibition draws from travels around Europe, creating an autobiographical tale following classic hero stories. Ledbetter’s bread and butter – cuddly creatures in unfortunate situations – remains, but he experiments further with color and aesthetic embellishment in the new paintings, which are composed on blond wood panels.

“Magnus Maximus” will run through June 23, 2010. The exhibition is Ledbetter’s first solo showing at Cory Helford.

Corey Helford Gallery, 8522 Washington Blvd, Culver City, CA.
