Where form meets function

In all honesty, I’m not sure what to think of this classically inspired set of outdoor seating furniture. Clearly (in name and feel), the design derives from Mies van der Rohe’s 1922 Barcelona chair, but the intent differs drastically and the usage takes somewhat uncomplimentary pulls from the original lines.

The Barceloneta Chair from Serralunga is designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti and substitutes leather upholstry for plastic. The chair can also be stacked (accounting for modifications to the line).

Thanks to Pico Cool for the heads up.
