On Saturday, August 14, 2010, Philadelphia’s Amberella Gallery opens “Planchette.” The exhibition draws together a collection of miniature altars, paintings, and writings stemming from on-going conversation between J.L. Schnabel and Danielle Vogel.

The name “Planchette” alludes to tool used to divine spirits on a Ouija board. Both Schnabel and Vogel have found the planchette a central object in both their creative relationship and in their individual artistic persuits. Schnabel holds an MFA in creative writing from The New School, while Vogel took her’s from Naropa University (specifically in Writing and Poetics).
