As one half of BillyKirk, Kirk Bray is well known for his beautifully detailed leather goods. Alone, he’s developing well as a painter. I’ve covered him several times before – showing paintings, prints, and announcing gallery exhibitions.

Bray’s latest output makes up In the Moment, and is described as “a new collection of paintings depicting life in all its absurdity and preciousness.” There are 11 paintings in all, each continuing Bray’s balance of nature and the built environment. Now, however, they also include figures… on zip wires… which expands the narrative value of the material.

In the Moment opened last night in Jersey City. The exhibition runs until September 28, 2010.

Fifty8 Gallery is located at 58 Coles Street, Jersey City, New Jersey.

An edited preview of Kirk Bray’s new paintings after the jump.
