Where the runway meets the street

Billionaire Boys Club will release some interesting “Brown’s Beach Co.” inspired product as part of their Fall/Winter 2010 Collection.

“For AW10 Billionaire Boys Club pays homage to the Brown’s Beach Jacket Co producing a replica – inspired in terms of both style and fabric. Jacket and waistcoat feature standout details including the recognizable thick woollen trim, two tone weave, mixed with signature ‘Space Beach’ gold buttons. The jacket and waistcoat not only makes a firm reference to historical design but runs alongside Billionaire Boys Club outdoor/mountaineering story for AW10.

Established in Rhode Island in 1927 and heralded the jacket that ‘kept Admiral Byrd warm at the South pole’, Browns Beach is regarded as one of the earliest examples of technical wear.

Named as the ‘favourite of the outdoorsmen for over 60 years’ in a 1967 advertisement, Browns Beach (styling Mr. Brown, fabric by Mr. Beach) today remains a highly collectable and sought after label. Made from a heavy wool in a herringbone weave, the unique two-ply effect keeps out the cold and damp whilst hugging the body like a sweater, wears for years and absorbs body moisture.”

The jacket and matching vest will release November 2010.
