The other day we showed you a video of the Nike Dunk Pro SB. Today we take a closer look at the red/white colorway of the sneaker and explain the main improvements of the new mid top, due to release early next year.

“The entire outsole was redesigned, giving it an improved tread pattern that played off the original cupsole. Also, the cupsole was completely cored out, saving weight and bringing the foot lower to the board. The midsole was replaced with the lightweight and flexible cushioning material phylon.

The last item to get checked off was helping the shoe’s fit. That was fixed by moving some of the internal seems near the toe, thus eliminating pressure points.”

It might look the same, but it is lighter, stronger and just in general more suitable for skateboarding. The above red/white colorway is releasing January 2011.

Take a further look at the sneaker after the jump.
