Nowness opens up its portal to user submissions and finds itself with a bevvy of superb photographs by Danielle van Ark. “Taxidermia” is the Dutch artists series detailing stuffed animals in museum storage units. The subject is close to my heart – one of my first tasks when working at the New Bedford Whaling Museum was to consider the future of a stuffed walrus. van Ark manages to squeeze some humorous narrative into the images as well, her angles allowing for interplay between the animals.

Totally fun stuff. More of which comes after the jump.
