Just like the regular Olympics, the Chess Olympiad also needs keynote structures. Erick van Egeraat’s Chess and Billiard Club in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia kills two birds with one stone. On one hand, the club provides a grand platform for the 2010 Chess Championships. On the other, its legacy will last as a signature building expressing its home cities wealth and stature.
