French sportswear brand Le Coq Sportif is set to bring back one of their key heritage footwear styles from the archives, in a collaboration with Hanon. The style, once worn by legendary tennis player Arthur Ashe, will be available from January 2011.

“The original shoe, first seen in the 70’s and 80’s, was worn by Arthur Ashe on the courts during his playing days and has inspired the exclusive collaboration with Le Coq Sportif and have worked closely together to ensure that the original design and the heritage of the brand were respected. The classic shaped shoe has clean lines and features perforated detail for optimal breathability, along with a soft lining for comfort and premium upper for extra resistance. The shoe also features the original Le Coq Sportif ‘practice’ logo on the heel and the Arthur Ashe signature on the side.”
