A brand new addition to the Inspiration LA show was the recycled bag company, Jymoku. The backstory to the company is that owner of Jymoku goes out to flea markets, estate sales and fabric stores to source awesome used fabrics that are strong and resilient. He then has each piece cut up and remade into three different bag styles: a tote, handbag and a messenger bag. He often uses old belts to make the handles and old military straps to make the closures.

This brand was probably one of the most interesting because I haven’t seen anything like it before.  I actually bought a bag for myself and I have to say it is really well made. On the flight back home it held a laptop, DSLR, a jacket, shoes and a carton of cigarettes. For the fabric’s age, I thought it was going to rip right through but it didn’t. A great product from a small company based out of Los Angeles. The company doesn’t have a site at the moment, but keep an eye out for the brand and its collection.
