Alexander Calder’s Portraits: A New Language runs to August 14, 2011 at the National Portrait Gallery. The exhibition focuses on portraits, one of the most overlooked portions of Calder’s career and something he worked on throughout his life. Complimenting Calder’s sculpture are contemporary cartoons and sketches drawn from the NPG collection, a rare opportunity to present a full scope of the popular culture of the time.

Make sure to view the Calder’s Portraits microsite, it is both informative and quite entertaining.
