The Brooklyn Museum is highlighting 45 pieces of contemporary design purchased by the museum since 2000 in an exhibition called Thinking Big: Recent Design Acquisitions. In the past decade, the Brooklyn Museum has acquired 645 works that help keep the institutions decorative arts collection on the pulse – with the criteria being based both on significance and also on a notion of the importance of documenting key trends in material use.

Thinking Big runs through May 29, 2011.
