Where the runway meets the street

Blanc & Noir manufactures exclusively in Canada, using mainly Japanese and organic fabrics. The aesthetic draws from the time tested – military and utility clothing – and streamlined for a contemporary look and feel. To introduce the Spring/Summer 2011 collection Blanc & Noirs technical designer, Lars Mckinnon, breaks down his three favorite pieces.

He says of their French Terry Jacket, pictured above, “It looks like an MA-1 with articulated sleeves that make the jacket fit like a glove. Organic cotton.”

Herringbone Shirt in Green: “Incredibly light and soft  japanese fabric,  the color makes it for me though, initially I wasn’t sure about the green colorway, now its my favorite.”

Cargo Pant in Clay: “Super comfy brushed Japanese twill fabric, slim profile even with a single side cargo pocket.”
