Where form meets function

Musician Philip Sumner, and The Generic Man’s Kevin Carney bring focus back to the analogic world of sound with their “Input Output” workshop that allows for anyone to listen and “audition” the world of analog based sound through turntables,  loudspeakers, tube amps, and more. Basically, your sound room dreams imagined.

Input: Output – The Analog Workshop is comprised of three parts: A prototyping workshop constructing vintage-inspired speakers in which the end result will be a unique speaker prototype, a DJ booth consisting of old rotary mixers, vintage broadcast turntables and reel-to-reel decks, and a listening area where people can delve into their passion for vinyl and listen to music bearing the most authentic sound possible. Mid-century modern furniture pieces from Amsterdam Modern are also key components of the exhibition, creating a living soundscape laboratory.

Input Output: The Analog Workshop runs through June 24 at Space 1520 N Cahuenga Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028.
