For much of 2011, designer Li-Rong Liao‘s been working with cardboard and felt. The material choices are part of a larger experiment, which finds the Pratt Institute student investigating the balance of strength and aesthetic in different folding processes. Her discoveries lend well to both home furnishings and fashions, with seating a particular strong point of her current collection. Above is the Folded Felt Stool made with a single sheet of folded cardboard and finished in felt.

The stool is complemented by a lounge chair, pendant lamp and side table. View those after the jump.
