During the Spring of 2011, the Milwaukee Art Museum‘s ArtWorks Program invited local teens to explore the connection between digital arts and traditional craft. “In conjunction with “The New Materiality: Digital Dialogues at the Boundaries of Contemporary Craft,” a talented group of high school students explored the boundaries between digital art and traditional craft through a paid internship program. Interns worked with Museum staff and resident artists at RedLine Milwaukee to create artworks in response to the ideas and concepts presented in the exhibition. Through discussion, critical reflection, conversations with exhibition curators, a unique teach to learn component and hands-on studio practice, interns were exposed to new artistic ideas, careers, and technical skills.”

The video above and two after the jump are products of the program.
