Born in Bixby, Oklahoma, COOP is gearing up for his second solo showing in Culver City. As follow to his 2009 exhibition at Corey Helford Gallery, COOP’s “Idle Hands” shows a refinement of previous work and what the artist calls “hillbilly sex crime pop art.” Influenced by pulp magazines and pushing boundaries of deliberate provocation, COOP also shares his process through a series of sketches and drawings. These compliment 8 large scale paintings, each designed to push his signature pop style.

On view from July 15 to August 3, 2011.
