Helmut Newton’s photographs from his first three books – White Women (1976), Sleepless Nights (1978), and Big Nudes (1981) – are being exhibited for the first time on US soil at the MFA Houston. Compiling 205 total works, the exhibition highlights the material that solidified Newton’s reputation as a recorder of female identity and a master of photography. The prints used in the exhibition are of massive scale – the largest 8′ x 8′ – giving a unique look at some of the artist’s rarest material.

The exhibition remains on view through September 25, 2011.

More Newton after the jump.
