Is there an American food shrouded in more regional zealotry than the hot dog? Wethinks not. Plenty of cities have their own take on the wiener-in-bun, and if, for instance, you ask for ketchup on your Chicago dog, you can expect a stern finger wag and an earful.

Philadelphia’s Hot Diggity takes a more inclusive approach than many, serving hot dogs from multiple regions of the world and giving each one a great deal of love in the form of a lushly illustrated menu by Hawk Krall. These are some seriously awesome drawings, but they do remind of garish close-ups of the be-mucused faces of Ren & Stimpy. Still, we are hungry. (aotm)
