Where form meets function

Google celebrates German architect, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, with a strong Google Doodle on their homepage. Born this day, van der Rohe, was known for his purist and minimalist style of building design much of which can be felt in his work in Germany as well as in the United States after his emigration in 1937 due to the rise of Nazism in his home country. Before leaving, he was the last directory of the Bauhaus. The architect died in 1969.
