Rumors are heating up that the next line of MacBook Pros by Apple will be as thin as their MacBook Air. We do not think that they will actually be called Air, but they will be much thinner than current models and for the first time will probably come without an optical drive. With cloud services, including iCloud, and most digital media being streamed at this point, Apple thinks that an optical drive is becoming unnecessary and their experience with the MacBook Air probably underlines that theory. The new thinner MacBook Pros will come in both 13 inch and 15 inch sizes, with more power than the current MacBook Air line-up.

According to Digitimes, the new thinner MacBook Pros are already in production and we will see a release as early as April 2012. We will keep you posted of course.
