In an interesting development just announced by GQ, Nick Wooster will be going to retailer J.C. Penney. It appears that Wooster will take on the role of VP, Brand, Design and Trend for Men’s. This is good news for the retailer. JCP has never been seen as a “go to” spot for fashion. For those not from the U.S., the store is the kind of place where you would take your child for back to school shopping in the 80s and 90s if your child was not into keeping up with trends. We’re not saying the store is bad by any means, as it’s a solid place to pick up basic items. You can find brands like Nike, Dockers, Levi’s, Puma and New Balance; and its a great place to buy things like packs of undershirts, underwear and socks. It’s also a good place to shop for things like Mother’s and Father’s day gifts. As GQ speculates, if he ends up being the Creative Director for their in-house brands, it could see some cool things come about. I guess we will all have to wait and see where this goes. (via GQ)
