Where form meets function

Audi recently unveiled its newest concept car at the Paris Motor Show. The vehicle dubbed Crosslane unites the amenities of three different car types under just one hood, being a hybrid between a crossover, convertible and coupé; it is a two-seater and 2+2, in addition to its small but efficient gasoline engine it features two electric motors. The car’s structure makes use of advanced materials, such as aluminium, carbon fiber-reinforced polymer and fiberglass-reinforced polymer, resulting in a reasonable total weight of 3,064 pounds.

The Crosslane is powered by a 1.5 -liter-3cylinder engine and two supporting electric motors, of which the smaller one primarely acts as a starter and alternator. 176 horsepower lead to a top speed of 113 miles per hour and a 0-62 sprint of 8.6 seconds. The electric motor is equipped with a 17.4-kWh lithium-ion battery, making it possible to travel around 53-miles solely on battery-power.
