Where the runway meets the street

As we already noted last week, there is no need to turn grey during Fall. The leafes change colour and we suggest you follow suit by colour-blocking the New England way. Warm and earthy tones such as burgundy, camel and moss-green combined with no frills and casual cuts makes for a perfect upbeat Fall-outfit.

Take a look at our suggestions after the jump.

Obey – The Blind Cast 5 Panel Hat

This casual cotton flat brim five panel hat by Obey features metal eyelets, an adjustable synthetic leather buckle strap on back and a logo patch on front. Get it at Karmaloop.

Balenciaga – Men’s Blouson Caban Compact

For this Fall/Winter season Balenciaga has given a fashion classic a contemporary overhaul. Made of high quality and durable compact wool, this bomber jacket features a fitted silhouette, raglan sleeves, two side pockets, black lining with two interior pockets and comes in a beautiful warm brown colourway. Its minimalistic cut makes it very versatile, depending on wether you opt for a casual or a more dressed up style. The jacket is available at LN-CC.

Saturdays – Bowery Crew Neck

A cotton crew neck sweater is a basic and easy to combine piece of clothing, which should be included in every decent wardrobe. If you don’t have one already, get this one by Saturdays at SOTO.

Tanner Goods – Standard Belt

Nothing says “I actually care about the way I dress” more than a the right choice of accessories. It’s a subtle dash of savoir faire that makes a good outfit outstanding. For example, you can never go wrong with a quality leather belt like this one by Tanner Goods. It is hand made of 11oz English Bridle Leather and features a nice contrasting brass buckle. Get it at End.

Gant Rugger – Corduroy Trousers

Like most people I share rather ambivalent feelings towards corduroy pants. I like the feel, the texture, they are by far the most comfortable (apart from sweatpants) and at the same time durable pants. However, I just can’t help but feel totally out of style the moment I put them on. If there was a appropriate time for wearing corduroy pants, it would be most likely Fall. Usually around that time some of the more fashionable specimens like the one above by Gant Rugger pop up, making me forget all the doubts I ever had about this fine  fabric. The pants are available at Mr Porter.

Vans Vault x Horween – MT Edition Decon LX

Made in collaboration by Vans and Chicago tannery Horween, these sneakers succesfully combine a laid back attitude with experienced craftsmanship. They are made of premium grade leather and feature waxed laces, a velcro strap for an extra snug fit and of course the iconic Vans waffle sole, which keeps you from slipping on that wet foliage. Buy them at Oki-Ni.
