ArtReview has published their 2012 Power 100 list of the 100 most influential figures in contemporary art. In the 11 years the Power 100 has been around, the climate around art has changed which the list aims to reflect. Therefore, the list passes no judgment and is instead an observation of the art world and its major players. For the first time, a woman, Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, has topped the list in her role as artistic director of DOCUMENTA 13.
