Where the runway meets the street

Since the author of the following lines is currently enjoying a brief, but, despite the season, very nice and sunny stay in Stockholm, this week’s outfit is entirely comprised of Swedish brands. Usually known for its rather minimalistic approach, this weeks suggestions try to capture Swedish fashion in a rather broad context, ranging from classic outerwear to high fashion labels, resulting in a eclectic yet contemporary look. Fjällräven – Jacket No.68

Founded in 1960 by Åke Nordin, Swedish brand Fjällräven is not only one of the oldest suppliers of outdoor gear, but also spearheaded the design and development of a functional, and at the same time stylish, garment. The best example might be the Jacket No.68. Derived from the classic Greenland jacket, this updated version features the same G-1000® Eco & Heavy Duty fabric. Due to its ruggedness, its water repellent and highly breathable features, this jacket is the perfect choice to keep the Scandinavian climate at bay. Get it at Endclothing.

Acne – Ace Cash Slim-Fit Jeans

Sweden spawned a great number of fashion forward brands, no doubt about that. But if I had to name just one, it would be Acne. They not only paved the way for skinny jeans, but also for the whole Scandinavian fashion craze, which has already cooled down by now. Still, Acne ranks among the leading brands when it comes to jeans. The one featured above is a slim (but not skinny) fit, and is crafted, as always from high quality denim. They are available at Mr. Porter
