It seems like the world of Hip-Hop took over this week with the release of several great music videos. Unfortunately we run a tight ship and only have room for the five best music videos of the week. So be sure to let M83’s new video spin you out, DJ Khaled’s huge lineup knock you down whilst the rest chew you up and spit you out. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
The-Dream – Wake Me When It’s Over
The-Dream gets nostalgic with ‘Wake Me When It’s Over’, the first single off his upcoming album ‘1977’. This stormy video depicts the highs and lows of relationships and it seems Terius has had his fair share of heartbreaks.
M83 – Wait (Dir. Fleur & Manu)
The Creators Project helped in creating the final video of the trilogy for Antony Gonzalez’s M83. It continues with the previously featured themes of childhood and super-natural energy.
DJ Khaled – I Did It For My Dawgs Feat. Rick Ross, Meek Mill, French Montana, Ace Hood & Jadakiss (Dir. DRE Films)
Khaled is pretty intolerable if I’m honest. The way he shouts “DJ Khaled!’ at the start of every one of his songs and then shoves his fat face as close to the camera as possible is pretty repugnant. He does however have a knack for assembling some huge lineups as can be seen here.
Earl Sweatshirt – Chum (Dir. Hiro Murai)
With his latest single Earl turns away from the wild and deranged videos Odd Future are known for. Here he floats around in a dark and mysterious world inhabited by skeletal drummers and dogs. Always blessed with a flow much older than his years, it looks like Earl’s growing up (in an angry and awkward way).
Yacht x ADHD – Second Summer (Dir. ADHD)
Woah. Wait. What? Something about this ensemble will permeate into your brain, I guarantee it.
