The Consumer Electronics Show 2013 kicked off today and one of the first notable upcoming releases is Sony’s Xperia Z and ZL. The Z and ZL bear the Japanese company’s signature aesthetics and are just 0.31-inches thick. The devices pack quite a punch, too, with a 5-inch 1080p “Reality Display”, Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, NFC, LTE, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a MicroSD slot.

The 13MP rear camera features Sony’s new Exmor RS image sensor; the first chip capable of shooting 1080p HDR video, alongside a 2.2MP front camera. The smartphones feature IP55 and IP57 certification allowing the devices to be submerged in up to a meter of water for half an hour and still function perfectly.

Check out the gallery above and keep an eye out for the Z and ZL to launch later this quarter. We’ll be sure to post the best of this year’s CES so stay tuned for more updates.
