Located in Tavira in the southern Algarve area of Portugal Vitor Vilhena Architects built ‘The House Of Tavira’ consisting of two unique volumes connected by a transparent glass corridor. One cube contains the bedrooms and services facing the pool on the south side and finding shade under the deep overhang of the roof structure. A carport and additional space for leisure are in the 2nd component, an angular construction. The white building complies with the regional building codes, adding polished exposed concrete to define the roof plane in contrast to the sterile white-washed walls. A courtyard with an olive tree intrudes on the block, offering moments where the exterior makes its way to the interior.
