Where the runway meets the street

It is funny how things change, when in 2005-2006 streetwear brand would come out with bold graphic t-shirts, the high fashion has embraced the classic more than anybody else, producing extravagant versions of the tee, with prices going as high as 500 USD. Their prints and fabrications have become more exciting and one thing one should not forget – a 300 USD t-shirt is still the entry price product for many of these brands, making them the most popular items in the collections of Givenchy, Balmain, Christopher Kane and others. In terms of spreading their name and also business, the tee has come an important item in a high fashion brand collection. When some brands make it a little too easy for themselves, only licensing cheesy franchises for their t-shirt collections, others certainly put more effort into it.

Here below we have selected some of our favorite high fashion t-shirts that have released so far for Spring/Summer 2013, including Burberry Prorsum, Valentino, visvim, Balenciaga and others.

Dries Van Noten

We start with a simple but great Dries tee, black at the top and his signature dark navy at the bottom. Simple, easy to wear and at 86 Euros also not too crazy in terms of price. You can get it here.

Maison Martin Margiela

Known for their unique and hidden details, this tee is no different. Colorful from far, yet a super detailed dot graphic at closer inspection, Margiela fans should love this. You can get the t-shirt here.

Burberry Prorsum

In line with the new Burberry Prorsum Spring/Summer 2013 Collection, the t-shirts also received the metallic treatment with the application of stripes. We advice to keep the rest of the outfit simple with this one. Buy your now here.

Some might argue that the Japanese brand is not high fashion. For us visvim is, both in terms of price, as well as in terms of quality. The above tee released today from their Spring/Summer 2013 collection. You can get it here.

We showed you the great Liu Bolin video yesterday, promoting the Valentino camouflage range for SS13. Here above you see the t-shirt from the capsule line. Get your here.

Flowers and flower patterns have been popular for a while. Balenciaga gives it another twist, adding a slight blurry effect to it. The tee is now in stock here.

Christopher Kane

Always up for a surprise and known for his strong graphics, Christopher Kane presents for Spring/Summer 2013 paint brush styled t-shirts. They are now in stock here.

Either you hate it or you love it. French brand Balmain is known for its heavy use of zippers and slim cuts, also always includes several graphic t-shirts into their collection. Our favorite from the range this season is the lion tee, that you can buy now here.

Another French brand that has come out of nowhere and is stocked in pretty much every good menswear boutique by now, Carven impresses with great knitwear, outerwear, great colors and also with good graphics. Here is our pick of the season, available here.

With the warmer days still some time away, you can be sure that a lot of other great t-shirts will release in the coming weeks and months, here above was just a first taste.
