As some of you may remember, last year filmmaker Khalil Joseph made a fantastic short film for Flying Lotus’s album Until The Quiet Comes. Joseph and Lotus have teamed up once again for Joseph’s latest short film “Wildcat.” The dialogue-free “Wildcat” is a dreamlike narrative that explores the African-American rodeo subculture in the Oklahoma town of Grayson (previously Wildcat). The little-known event attracts African-American bull riders, barrel racers, and cowgirls from all over the Midwest and Southern USA. “‘Wildcat’ is a state of mind; an experiment inspired by the composition and performance of jazz music.”
