Although the whole smartwatch idea has so far failed to really catch on, Sony has gone ahead and unveiled another version of its aptly dubbed SmartWatch for Android devices. Like its predecessor, the SmartWatch 2 allows users to answer calls, read emails and texts, and snap photos, although now from a larger, 1.6-inch (220 x 176) touch display. The aluminum body design is both dust and water-resistant and allows the wearer to swap in their own 24mm strap.

NFC and Bluetooth 3.0 compatibility allows for pairing with devices running Android 4.0 or higher, while the battery life is reported to be around four days with moderate use. No word on pricing at the moment but early rumors suggest a September release.
