Tune in and turn up

I know I say it every week, but this week our top five music video picks are truly special. We’ve got bedrooms, barber shops, mermaids, and monsters as well as one of the biggest tracks you’re likely to hear this summer. Check our selection below and start your weekend in style.

Dan Bodan – Anonymous (Dir. Greg Fong)

Dan Bodan takes his bedroom electro-pop project out for a stroll into the idyllic outstretches of Greg Fong’s imagination.

Soko & Ariel Pink – Monster Love (incl. I Just Want To Make It New With You) (Dir. Soko)

French actress and singer Soko has combined with LA lo-fi master Ariel Pink on the brilliantly understated “Monster Love.” In the VHS-filmed clip above we learn that monsters and mermaids just aren’t a good fit, however everything is not how it may seem.

Mood Rings – The Line (Dir. Grant Worth)

This one sorta reminds me of MGMT on an Ambien flex. “The Line” is taken from the Atlanta five-piece’s debut album VPI Harmony which is released today on the Mexican Summer label. You can stream the entire album here.

Sailor & I – Tough Love

Sailor & I aka Stockholm-based producer Alexander Sjodin has released a video every bit as emotive as his much-hyped song “Tough Love.” Make sure to watch till the very end, powerful stuff.

Duck Sauce – It’s You (Dir. Philip Andelman)

If A-Track and Armand opened any kind of barbershop there’d be a line out the door and across the street. This place, however is another level. In their latest single as ‘Duck Sauce’ the boys have jumped on the electro-swing bandwagon and created a song which will surely be one of this year’s summer anthems.
