Aaron Poritz, an American designer who splits his time between Nicaragua and New York City, presents his first furniture collection. The craftsman specializes in sustainably sourced hard woods from South America and focuses on traditional techniques to construct his contemporary pieces. While traveling in Nicaragua, Poritz discovered a mill sourcing rare hardwood trees that were casualties of a hurricane in 2007. Without previous intentions of a furniture collection, the designer jumped at the opportunity to utilize such precious materials that yearned for utilization.
