Full of color and energy, we present COMMON’s lookbook for Spring/Summer 2014 as an exclusive premiere. The Swedish design duo’s fourth collection takes Saif Bakir and Emma Hedlund’s pure sartorial aesthetic and modern elegance into a more sportswear-focused direction. “Let the Game Begin” is influenced by classic American sportswear culture, visible in their varsity jackets and use of mesh materials while knitwear is replaced with loopback sweats and perforated mesh tops. Bakir and Hedlund also looked towards the late photographer Luke Smalley’s “Gymnasium” book for more visual inspiration.

Continuing the seasonal collaboration with a guest illustrator, COMMON chose to work with the Swedish-born New York-based graffiti artist Rubin for this collection. The result is a powerful abstract geometrical pattern used for T-shirt prints. Other key pieces include the neoprene varsity jacket with chalk-white sleeves and a taped PVC collar in bright orange – COMMON’s own team color for the season.
