Ron Howard’s Made in America documentary about the Jay Z-curated, Labor Day music festival in Philadelphia will air October 11 on Showtime. Howard’s documentary is being described as a backstage pass to the event and is said to include some of the artists’ stories on how they are “making it in America.” The film is expected to tell Jay Z’s reasons for starting the festival and give an inside look into the performers who were a part of it; the film is set to debut at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7. This year’s Made in America festival begins on August 31 with performances by Beyoncé, Nine Inch Nails, Imagine Dragons, Deadmau5, Kendrick Lamar, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and many more.
