There is a new solution to home water filtration that looks to re-image what the home water filtration category looks like and its name is Soma. It comes to us from Mike Del Ponte, Soma’s founder, who believed that “aesthetically pleasing, but also ethically sound” water filtration product could better serve the market at an affordable price. At a base price of $49 with a 60-day supply of filters mailed to your home for $12.99, the Soma is a uniquely environmentally friendly product for your home that serves fresh, clean water for around 25-cents a day.

With the help of  boutique water designer, David Beeman (Starbucks, Peet’s, Keurig) and the industrial design duo Joe Tan and Markus Diebel (IDEO, Incase), Soma developed a more elegant water filter system based on an 8-ounce glass carafe and coconut shell carbon filter that is 100% biodegradable. Simply dispose of Soma’s filters in your green trash bins for minimal environmental impact. Soma is available now online.
